When Fire Station 27 opened up nearly 90 years ago, it was the largest fire station in the Western United States. This photo shows the station shortly after opening.
The Museum in Hollywood houses some remarkable and famous apparatus. This 1950s-era Seagrave was used in the notorious Bel Air Fire of 1961. It is nearly completely restored and people travel from around the United States to see this remarkable vehicle.

Today, Fire Station 27, housed next door to the Museum, houses a full Task Force, plus Rescue Ambulances, Urban Search and Rescue (USAR), and misc. support equipment. As it is in the center of Hollywood, it is one of the most well-known fire stations in the city, and perhaps the world.
