About

USAR at workWelcome! If you’re interested in the fire service, firefightingvideos.org offers educational and entertainment media products related to a wide array of interests. Each project is designed to educate, entertain, and promote awareness related to fire safety and prevention.

Net sale profits are provided to the Los Angeles Fire Department Historical Society, a California non-profit organization. The LAFD Historical Society operates several museums in the Los Angeles area dedicated to preserving the history of the fire service in Los Angeles. There is a museum in Old Fire Station 36 in the Los Angeles Harbor district and a larger facility in the center of Hollywood, next to operational Fire Station 27. The Hollywood museum is also the site of the Fallen Firefighter Memorial and the William Rolland Firefighter Educational Institute.

The initial series of titles have been produced by David and Cameron Barrett and their production team. David and Cameron became involved with the Historical Society in 2001 and have contributed a wide range of projects to the Museum and the LAFD, including several event video presentations, in-service training DVDs, and fire prevention program multimedia components. Titles from other producers may be offered in the future.

Cameron Barrett has a long history in network and local news, taught broadcast journalism at the University of Miami and the University of Georgia - and now writes, co-produces and edits a wide range of media projects, ranging from sports for broadcast to video podcasts in a variety of markets.

David Barrett is a 20-year veteran of the digital media industry and holds an extensive array of awards for his media production projects, including motorsport productions for broadcast, documentaries, training, and music videos. He shoots, directs, and co-produces a wide range of media projects in the same fields as Cameron.
